NYLON JAPAN

My friend Per Age, the designer of FIN informed me that I was featured in Nylon Japans May issue, he is responsible for the scans as well, thank you so much Per Age!

I wished I could read Japanese, is there anyone out there who are able to translate? The picture is taken during this previous New York fashion week, and I’m wearing a Sass & Bide jacket, Club Monaco pants, Acne Box boots, F21 bag and watch by Dyrberg/Kern.

TODAY IN B/W

bess-hanneli-mustaparta

Today I was wearing a studded leatherjacket with fringes from Bess, my boyfriend’s sweater, cut off stockings and Acne Box boots. Please keep your eyes of the strange solution i decided to do with my bangs… It’s growing out and has this weird length which is hard to deal with some days.

COOL AND CRAZY!

hanneli-mustaparta-stylecom

A good friend of mine Marius informed me a few days ago that I was mentioned on Style.com. I’m amazed, it’s just such a big compliment and honor to be mentioned in the best and most important fashion web-site there is.
My blazer is vintage Pour, when come to think of it I don’t really think it can be described as vintage really, since I’m suspecting it to be only a few years old. I got it in a vintage store in Stockholm. My pants must be from the 80’s, they are vintage Jean Paul Gaultier.

GREENE STREET… NEW YORK

The wonderful coat is from Burberry, the shades is from Versace. Sadly I don’t remember where his sandals are from, all I know is that he looks absolutely stunning. I love how the color of his sunglasses matches his coat.

I met him in the Meatpacking district today, and this is the first street style picture i have shot with my old analog Nikon camera and I’m so happy with it. I love his style and the cardigan is really the cherry on top.

ME AND MY MARTIN KIPPENBERGER

martin-kippenberger-untiteled

I saw this painting by Martin Kippenberger a while back at Moma, and I have been back a few times after that and can’t take my eyes of it. The painting is from a snapshot he did, and then he hired a painter to make it into a painting.

I could not believe my luck when I passed this old couch in the pile of black garbage bags on the street the other day a little north of Soho, so I did my own Kippenberger.

These amazing pictures shot by Daniel Jackson for the May issue of Japanese Vogue are such an inspiration. I love the make-up done by Linda Cantello.

YSL’S STEFANO PILATI

stefano-pilati1

I had just ordered lunch at a small and exquisite restaurant in downtown New York, when I saw a woman passing me, wearing the most wonderful pair of pants. Right after her came a gentleman who was wearing amazing pants as well, paired with a very elegant blazer. When he turned around I noticed that he bore a striking resemblance to Stefano Pilati, the creative director of YSL. I only caught a short glimpse of him but I was 99% sure it was him, and although I was completely starstruck I knew I had to take his picture.

While I sat there paralyzed, trying to pick up the courage walk over and say hi, they left. Finally I snapped out of it and I managed to track them down outside the restaurant. I asked them if I could please take their picture for my blog, and they smiled and looked at each other and said “Yeah, of course!”.

I asked the woman who had made her pants (even if I recognized the fabric from the YSL summer collection from miles away), and she said they were designed by a designer named Stefano Pilati. “Aha! So it is you!”, I said and presented myself, and told him it was an honor to meet him. They were both so sweet and friendly, and their looks were so inspiring - him with his blazer together with the slouchy pants and the fabric around his waist, and her with her amazing overalls pants in jersey fabric. J’aime!
Edit: Her name is Melanié Ward, I have seen her name many times and love her work but did not know how she looked like.
