Pitti Uomo in Florence has been amazing! I have never seen so many well dressed men in one place before. I have learned quite a lot about the world of tailoring, and it has also been really inspiring to see how the italian men use colors and patterns. I was in a shop where I overheard an American woman trying to get her husband to by the loafers that all Italian men are wearing with the slightly shorter pants, and this guy was like “You’ll never see me in that, never”. It’s just two complete different worlds, and I wonder why it turned out like that. All men should have a tailored suit.

This beautiful woman is stunning and so effortless. Her shirt has such a beautiful color, very delicate - almost white but still slightly pink and it works so well with her brown leather bag.

Tara has such inspiring style, she can be girly one day and tomboy the other day. I have never understood people who says “No, this dress is not me” while shopping. I say “Try it on and you might be surprised”. Tara found the dress at the last ever sale of PHI (RIP) and it had been just hanging there, everyone had been passing it. I love that it’s romantic and strong at the same time. Her hair is so great too! New York has been so humid, hair just gets big and frizzy. But this hairdo is humid-proof, it will just get better and better throughout the day.

I’m happy to be using one of my all time favorite vintage finds again, the denim shirt is just too good. It’s actually a bodysuit, and it needs to be worn with something high waisted or else the non-denim fabric peaks up. The shorts are vintage Levi’s orange label from What Comes Around Goes Around. Same belt as in previous post. Lipstick is self-made and it will come out this fall.

This bra is my summer favorite and will wear it with everything my closet has to offer all summer. And I’m wearing a self made turban! The scarf is from Zara, as well the blazer, shades from Persol, bra from Alexander Wang, shorts from Acne, belt is second hand.

Emily Eisen looks lovely in her fedora and Raquel Allegra leather dress sticking out underneath the sweater. Relaxed and yet super chic! And her nail polish gives a great pop-of-color.

My little sister Tirill wanted help to re-work her hairdo, so we sat down and made a little mood board before I started cutting. We were kind of wishing this was a service a hair salons would do. References can be so different for people; if I say Jane Birkin I think of her signature bangs and honey highlights but someone else might just know her from her short-do period and cut a pixie instead. Perhaps not the best example but you get what I mean. Tirill has an obsession with Anna Karina’s cute style and hairdo, so that was the main inspiration for our search. Sadly I didn’t take a picture of the result!
By the way, a great tip for sweaty bangs during the summer is dry shampoo. My favorite is one from Klorane, but in an emergency baby powder will also do the job.

I realized that I’m wearing the exact same colors like I did HERE the clothes are just cut differently. The shorts are made of some kind of wonderful cracked leather by Helmut Lang, denim jacket is HL too, boots Acne “Box”, the bra is Alexander Wang and the bag is by Mulberry.

Poppy De Villeneuve is such an inspiring photographer, so I didn’t hesitate to say yes when NOWNESS asked me to do some “behind the scenes” pictures on the set of the film she was shooting. The short film is starring the super sweet Liu Wen as well as old school gangsta-like Edoardo Ballerini, whom you will see a lot more of on HBO’s new series “Boardwalk Empire” this fall. There are always so many beautiful moments happening during a shoot, sometimes small, little things that no one notices because everyone is focusing on what’s going on in front of the camera. The film aired today on NOWNESS and you can see more of my behind the scenes pictures here.

This might sound cheesy, but this guy took my breath away on the fields of Coachella, he really stood out in the mix of girls with furry boots and pasties. I love how he mixed both street and tribal into it and made it work so well. And he is actually making man skirts look pretty good.
