THEYSKENS’ THEORY FALL 2011

I was at the press preview for Olivier Theyskens for Theory the other day and fell in love with so many of the pieces. The furry knits and the long dress are beautiful. The white little bag is adorable and the white coat is breathtaking. The white leather shorts had such a great color to them, dirty/ash white.

CROPPED JEANS

This is the ultimate length on a pair of skinny jeans. I just got my Rag & Bone “Dover” back from the tailor and I can’t wait to wear them without stockings underneath. Spring, please some soon! Her Burberry fits so well with this outfit, it’s kind of preppy but the boots and bag makes it look more interesting. Beautiful!

I’M ON VOGUE.COM!

Vogue.com captured my 5 outfits for 5 days and I had a lot of fun doing it. Marko MacPherson shot them and he was so great to work with.

BILL CUNNINGHAM IN THE MOVIE THEATRES

I saw this documentary about Bill Cunningham the other day, I was laughing and smiling throughout the movie and even cried a little here and there. Bill’s outlook on life is truly unique and very refreshing.

HELLO WIND

I love this sweater by Stella McCartney, it’s oversized but with such a great cut. My hat is vintage, skirt by Acne, Mulberry small Bayswater satchel and Proenza Schouler boots.

PLEATS PLEASE

Tamu McPherson floating down the steps of Lincoln Center in her beautiful ensemble of camel and white. I love the little touch of animal print on her shoes. Her skirt is by Rag & Bone.

STROLLING ABOUT

Alexandra Agoston with a reminder that a hole on a jean is really cool. I love her relaxed and effortless cool style.

A TOUCH OF SPRING

Maria Vu in a perfect transition-into-spring outfit. The temperature in New York is the opposite of stable so this is a great solution. I love the combination of soft and flowy mixed with sturdy leather and heavy knit. She is wearing a dress, leather jacket and knitted sweater all by 3.1 Phillip Lim and Balenciaga boots.

RODARTE F/W-11/12

Rodarte always manages to make the most brilliant shows. I love the choreography as well as the props. The collection was slightly less structured than previous collections. The corn field print is such a great idea! I love the sweater that looks like Demi Moore’s sweater in “About last night”, as well as the 50′s silhouette dresses in the thick couch like fabrics – I’m a big fan of couch fabrics as you may have seen here.
