AT THE CFDA/VOGUE FASHION FUND DINNER

I was at the CFDA/Vogue fashion fund dinner as I posted earlier. Vogue invited me to blog for them at the event. To even be in the same room as so many highly creative people is indescribable. A few days before the dinner Virgina Smith had helped me find a dress from their racks of styling at the office – THE office… I chose one by Yigal Azrouel. The fabric of the dress was pretty amazing, It seemed like it was made to have too much fabric and then had been pressed back onto the dress. To be at the Vogue office was exactly as in the movie ” The September Issue” and almost like “Carrie” in “Sex and the City” and a little bit similar as “The Devil wears Prada”. Oh and my nail polish by OPI in the color “Go On Green” matched the walls, so in Vogue!

Alber Elbaz held the keynote speech and I wished he would have spoken longer. It was so inspiring listening to his stories, like when he was a young man starting out in Paris, working for Yves Saint Laurent. One day he met Yves on the street, red faced and visibly stressed. Alber asked if Yves was nervous about his couture show the day after, upon which he replied, ”Yes, Alber, you are only as good as your next show”. Goosebump moment!

The winner was Sophie Théallet won $200 000, and runners-up both Monique Pean and Patrik Ervell got $50 000 to get started. They will all meet regularly with a team of business mentors for guidance. I look forward to see them in the future, we all have seen how far last years winner Alexander Wang has come.

SHEEPSKIN FUR COAT

I am against animals bred and killed solely for their fur. That’s why I always wanted a sheepskin fur, cause how many sheep are killed for the use of their meat and the fur just gets thrown away for nothing? Except for Ikea’s “Ludde”. At least get a use of everything since they are already being killed. The coat is Margiela and is a re-design of a 60′s coat, my pants are Ksubi, bag Yvonne Koné for Bonne Gout, shoes by Aldo, silver feather ring by “By Me”, turqouis ring and snake ring are vintage.

ME AS A BLONDE

This is why I had bleached my eyebrows the other day. I had equally fun as a blonde as I normally have being my brunette self. But it was kind of crazy seeing myself looking so different. Dusan Reljin shot these for my vegan and eco-friendly lipstick that I made in collaboration with Zanzuel. The styling is done by the amazing Rebecca Palmer. I put links in the text here but it doesn’t show unless you slide your cursor across and it.

DAUL KIM – RIP

Unbelievable sad news, the Korean model Daul Kim took her own life in her apartment in Paris, and was found yesterday morning. She was such a successful model, had impressive style and a dark and beautiful blog. It’s only now I read through it and all the darkness makes sense. I never met her but I have seen her several times and she had a very interesting thing about her. I’m sure she would have become very successful in what ever she decided to do after modelling, if she only would have gotten the right help instead of seeing suicide as an option. My thoughts goes out to her family and friends. Let’s make sure we take good care of each other.

DID IT MYSELF

I bought this Margiela key chain when I bought the skirt, but I wanted to make it into a earring. I just took the key chain rings off, used two pliers and opened two small silver rings and put the hoops that I bought in the jewellery district on. The key chain was a little heavy and since I have pierced my ear in two places on my right ear, I figured I could just have one in each to take take weight off.

MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA

My brand new Margiela skirt is my new love at the moment. It has a loong split. I swirled it slightly and put the end on the inside of the lining and it suddenly worked as a short skirt. Two skirts in one, gotta love that. Sweater from Zara, bag from Nina Jarebrink, shoes from Acne, top bracelet by Marianne Tefre for “BY ME”, watch by Dyrberg/Kern and the last bracelet is my boyfriends old one. It was 67F/19C today here in New York, in the middle of November! Strange.
